The History

On September 24, 1944, US aircraft sank a Japanese supply fleet in Coron Bay. Today, 12+ wrecks rest on the seafloor at 10-40m depth, covered in coral.

Okikawa Maru (biggest, 168m), Akitsushima (seaplane tender), Kogyo Maru (hold full of supplies), and the Skeleton Wreck (visible through clear water).

Who Can Dive the Wrecks

Most Coron wrecks require Open Water certification minimum. Advanced OW recommended for deeper sites. Technical diving courses available for penetration dives.

Best Time to Dive Coron

November to May for best visibility (10-30m). Water temperature is 27-29°C year-round. Most operators run 2-3 boat dives per day.
